Gino, the hardest working adult entertainer in the business Photo: Serge Rajevic (KRUG) Gino, Srdjan Yevdjevich, was born as a very young and talented entertainer in Hospital Kosevo, downtown Sarajevo, Bosnia, on October 9th, during John Lennon's 20th birthday party.
His childhood went relativly peacefull . He was a loving child that nobody expected to turn the way he latter did . At the age of 9 he decided to be on stage to the rest of his life and obey his egomania.
His mom (at the time Judge of the Bosnian Courthouse), certainly & dearly hoped that a temporary child's obsession is what took him to the Community Center one day to sign up for an instrument, foreign language and drama classes. While at the center, he didn't have enough time to decide what instrument he's gonna play because his aunt, who had accompanied them, badly wanted to pee, so they quickly decided: "Guitar and English!" Who knows if there wasn't for peeing, today we might have to look at the Russian-speaking accordionist.
He switched to drums at the age of 12. That was his career. His hobby was school. Now that's the moment when his mom realized she had created a monster. She called a family meeting with all the male authorities to help her; widow woman & single mom, find out where she went wrong. After they trashed his interests and minimized his personality, they all agreed with Gino's school teacher, an old friend of his late father, on this: "It's about time to accept the truth that he's not and never will be as intelligent and successful as his late father. Not everybody is for school, so we should stop living in denial that he'll ever graduate from anything further than high school. Actually he's lucky if he accomplishes that. It's not the end of the world, just make sure he's got bread in his hands, and learns some helpful skills such as plumbing or carpentry. That'll keep him busy when that music crap stops." Such encouraging words to hear about yourself when you are 13, secretly listening to the conversation of grownup authorities about your future. If it hasn't happened before now it has; "The Monster Is Alive" . From that moment Gino started his development as a fine young egomaniac, proving everyone everything on the face of planet Earth. As far as school goes; he later graduated from University of Sarajevo, School of Law. Gino entered the world of adult entertainment at the age of 16, recording his first single with one hit wonder teen band Zov (as a drummer) . Major record label, great hit, great band, couple of records yet at age 21 he wants to sing, dance, act, wear tiger negligee... etc. He wants to be the man, to be cooler than fuck, to have all the attention of the world. Stage is his obsession. He's doing music, theater, film, fashion, adult entertainment, anything that has the lights on it. His band Gino Banana recorded four LPs, two went "Gold," and one never got published because of the war. (3photos of the 3 albums that I need to give you) In theater, he began in National Theater of BiH, as a guest star artist in the 1987 production of Shakespeare's "As You Like It." Later, Gino composed and acted for several theater plays and some TV serials and movies.
In 1992, along with other musicians who remained in Sarajevo during the Bosnian war; he co-wrote, co-composed, performed and lived the biggest celebration of life itself, the musical "Hair Sarajevo, A.D. 1992." Its international recognition worldwide brought Gino to the US for a tour initiated by American director Phil A. Robinson. With a little help from his big friends who saw "Hair" in Sarajevo (Phil Robinsin, Joan Baez, etc.) and those who supported his art in the US (Krist Novoselic), Gino continued his career in Seattle, joining KULTUR SHOCK.
